Die Konferenz ist der Auftakt der gleichnamigen Forschungsgruppe, die bis Juli 2018 am Zentrum für interdisziplinäre Forschung der Universität Bielefeld arbeiten wird. Das Projekt wird geleitet von der Soziologin Ursula Mense-Petermann, dem Historiker Thomas Welskopp und der Ökonomin Anna Zaharieva (alle Universität Bielefeld). Die Tagungssprache ist Englisch.
