During the German Presidency of the EU Council in the second half of 2020, the ‚Territorial Agenda 2030‘ should be adopted by the European ministers responsible for spatial planning and territorial development, in cooperation with the European Commission, the European Committee of the Regions, the European Investment Bank and the European Economic and Social Committee, at a conference on 1 December 2020. This will be the third Territorial Agenda, following on from those of 2007 and 2011.
This is the context within which the ARL – Academy for Territorial Development in the Leibniz Association, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community and the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development, is organising this year‘s ‚Discussion Forum on Spatial Development‘ focusing on the topic of ‚Spatial Development Policy for a Just and Green Europe: The Territorial Agenda 2030‘.
The event is intended to enable interested experts from spatial planning, development and research to become more familiar with the planned objectives and measures and to provide a forum for discussion and exchange between the various perspectives and planning levels.
International experts from research and practice will address the question formulated above from European, national and federal positions and will also discuss implementation approaches.
The event will be held on Thursday 3 September 2020 in the Hannover Congress Centrum, Theodor-Heuss-Platz 1-3, 30175 Hannover.
