Lunch Talk: Digital Entrepreneurship & Society

Lunch-Talk zum Thema „Digital Entrepreneurship & Society“ findet am 18. Mai 2021, um 13 Uhr CEST statt. Die Referent*innen sind Katharina Hölzle, Professorin für IT-Entrepreneurship am Hasso-Plattner-Institut, Franziska Günzel-Jensen, Associate Professor an der Aarhus University, und Thomas Gegenhuber, Juniorprofessor für Digitale Transformation an der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg. Die Veranstaltung findet auf Englisch statt.

Digital entrepreneurship is fundamentally interlinked with society. In this first lunch talk we will explore how – and what this means for entrepreneurship research and practice. Katharina Hölzle will talk about alternative outlets and outreach: “The changing landscape of innovation research impact – the what, the why, the how, the where.” Franziska Günzel-Jensen places the focus on academics themselves and will speak about: “Kindness in academia as a catalyst for impact scholars.” Finally, Thomas Gegenhuber will talk about practical and methodological implications of studying new forms of organizing under the title „New Forms of Organizing as Sites for Entrepreneurship & Innovation Research.”

Speakers
Katharina Hölzle is Professor for IT-Entrepreneurship at the Hasso Plattner Institute, Digital Engineering Faculty, at the University of Potsdam. She is Deputy Chair of the Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation (EFI) and member of the German government’s High-Tech Forum. She is Editor-in-Chief of the journal ‘Creativity and Innovation Management’ (Wiley). Her research focuses on digital entrepreneurship, digital innovation and transformation, and digital ecosystems.

Franziska Günzel-Jensen is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at Aarhus University, Denmark. Her research focuses on entrepreneurship and innovation as a vehicle to address societal grand challenges and to achieve the UN SDG agenda. She advises start-ups with diverse backgrounds in the early stages of their development and has been engaged in numerous national and European start-up support programs.

Thomas Gegenhuber is Assistant Professor at Leuphana University Lüneburg and an associated researcher at JKU Linz. Within the domain of digital transformation, Thomas explores new forms of organizing, various types of openness (open strategy, open social innovation, and open government) and (cultural) entrepreneurship in a digital economy.
