Deep insights into opaque materials - Unique 3D data from laboratory x-ray techniques
X-ray techniques have been widely used to get quantitative information about chemical composition, atomic structure and chemical binding as well as the 3D morphology and microstructure of materials. One significant advantage of the X-ray techniques is that they deliver – generally integral – data for opaque objects, bulk materials and thin films nondestructively.
Therefore, in this online-live-lecture, the following topics will be addressed:
-X-ray diffraction for phase, texture and stress analysis of materials
-X-ray spectroscopy for the determination of materials composition and chemical binding
-X-ray microscopy and X-ray computed tomography for 3D morphology and microstructure analysis of materials
-In-situ and operando studies of kinetic processes in materials
-Data acquisition, data processing, and data analysis, including the application of algorithms of artificial intelligence.
