Es ist bereits das 10. Mal, dass das Fraunhofer IOF und OptoNet e.V. eine internationale Fachcommunity nach Jena einlädt, um gemeinsam über neueste Technologien und Entwicklungen in den Bereichen Freiformen und Asphären zu diskutieren. Die inhaltlichen Schwerpunkte legt das Event im Jubiläumsjahr auf wissenschaftliche Freiformoptik-Projekte, Fertigungstechnologien, Freiformsysteme und -anwendungen sowie die Charakterisierung von Freiformoberflächen.
Neben fachlichem Austausch bei Vorträgen und Diskussionen bietet das Event außerdem die Möglichkeit zur umfassenden Vernetzung bei einem Abendevent. Weiterhin wird der Workshop von einer Ausstellung neuester technologischer Highlights begleitet. Zu den Ausstellern gehören in diesem Jahr: AMETEK GmbH BU Precitech, AMETEK GmbH BU Taylor Hobson, Bühler Alzenau GmbH, DUTCH UNITED INSTRUMENTS, Mahr GmbH, micro resist technology GmbH - Moore Nanotechnology Systems, RSP Technology, SCHNEIDER GmbH & Co. KG sowie son-x GmbH und Trionplas Technologies GmbH.
Die Veranstaltung wird unterstützt von Carl Zeiss Jena GmbH und Qioptiq Photonics GmbH & Co. KG.
