On Wednesday, 3 May, Prof. Alessandro Bezerra Trindade from the Brazilian Federal University of Amazonas will talk about "Rural Electrification in Amazonia: Challenges and Case Studies". The Amazon basin region is a very peculiar area of South America. It covers a huge area, has many isolated riverside communities, and suffers from a lack of roads and communication infrastructure. In this lecture, the biggest challenges for electrification will be listed, all based on three case studies in the area of the lower Rio Negro, near the city of Manaus. The lecture will take place as part of the research project "2LIFEBAT - Robust solar-powered storage systems with second-life batteries and their economic and ecological potential" (aware.thi.de). The language of the lecture will be English.
Afterwards, the speaker will be available for discussion.
The event is organised by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sabine Bschorer, head of the Bachelor's programme "Energy Systems and Renewable Energies" (https://www.thi.de/maschinenbau/studiengaenge/energiesysteme-und-erneuerbare-ene...) at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
