Thomas Brandt ist Ordinarius für Neurologie und Direktor der Neurologischen Klinik, Klinikum Großhadern, der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen auf dem Gebiet neurologischer und pathophysiologischer Studien zur Genese und Therapie von Schwindel und Desorientierung. Im Jahr 2000 wählte die Deutsche Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina Thomas Brandt zu ihrem Mitglied (Sektion Neurowissenschaften).
