The NRGCOM project is led by the South Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency (STRIA) and supported by supported by Interreg Danube Transnational Programme, involves active participation from 12 countries across the region. It brings together participants from multiple countries across the Danube Region with the shared objective of creating a supportive environment for the development and sustainability of energy communities. This initiative focuses on enhancing legal frameworks, operational strategies, and financial mechanisms to empower communities to take control of their energy needs.
Besides the presentation of the project results, the series of roundtable discussions is designed to address critical aspects of energy communities, including motivation, inclusion, and internal communication. These discussions will offer valuable insights into the best practices, challenges, and strategies necessary for the effective governance and expansion of energy communities. The goal is to enable participants to apply these learnings in their respective contexts, thereby contributing to the overall success and sustainability of energy communities across the region. The learnings will be incorporated into a strategy aiming at contributing to establishing a proper environment for the establishment of energy communities in the Danube Region.
