As more social and economic activity is moving online and a growing numbers of objects are software-augmented, networkable, and computing-assisted, novel challenges for cybersecurity and cyber resilience have emerged. With this, the attack surface is growing, and cyber threats are increasing. This Weizenbaum Forum brings together experts from different domains and with different perspectives to explore current challenges and policy efforts at the EU level and to debate (potential) ways forward to strengthen our socio-technical systems.

With the Weizenbaum-Forum event series, we open up our institute to concerns and views from politics, business and civil society on the second Tuesday of the month and invite a broad audience to discuss research issues relating to the networked society. Each event brings together three selected experts from different fields to shed light on the social consequences of digitalization from different perspectives and then discuss them with the participants.
