#TheMuseumsLab is a pioneering mutual learning and knowledge exchange programme for African and European museum professionals. The project brings together a wide range of professional skills and competences. Museums as well as academic and cultural professionals come together to create space for an engaged discussion on museums past and present for a joint shaping of the museums future as well as to promote mutual learning between African and European museum professionals.
#TheMuseumsLab 2025 is jointly curated and implemented by the Yimtubezina Museum and Cultural Center, the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, the International Academic Committee, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and TheMuseumsLab Alumni Network. TheMuseumsLab is financed by the German Minister of State for Culture and the Media and the German Federal Foreign Office.
This year’s overarching theme `Colonialism and Resistance’ will guide the participants through the programme modules which aim to offer multidisciplinary perspectives on current museum and heritage discourses, space for exchange and networking.
The Kick-off Event on 7 May will serve as an introduction to this year's programme, featuring a Keynote by Injonge Karangwa and Jonas Tinius, followed by a Q&A session.

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
