We cordially invite you to the 12th International Scientific Conference on the Prevention of Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (PREMUS 2025) in Tübingen. The event will take place from 9 to 12 September and addresses a topic that is highly relevant to society, not least due to the high global rates of incapacity to work caused by musculoskeletal disorders. Approximately 250 participants are expected to attend this conference organised by the Scientific Committee on Musculoskeletal Disorders of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH). For the relatively small scientific community in the field of prevention of work-related musculoskeletal disorders, this interdisciplinary conference, which takes place every three years, is the most important international platform for exchange between scientists and occupational practitioners.
The conference’s central theme, ‘Prevention of work-related musculoskeletal disorders in a constantly changing world of work,’ addresses the challenges of preventing such work-related musculoskeletal disorders in a world of work that is characterised, for example, by digitalisation, flexible working (in terms of place and time of work), technological innovations, demographic change, and an ageing workforce.
A total of 20 renowned scientists from various countries have been invited to deliver keynote speeches at the conference. In addition, there will be around 170 scientific presentations by international speakers on current important topics in the field of prevention of work-related musculoskeletal disorders. These topics include:
- Risks to the musculoskeletal system posed by new forms of work (e.g. mobile working)
- Prevalence and epidemiology of work-related musculoskeletal disorders and work-related risk factors, occupational diseases internationally
- Implementation of occupational safety measures to reduce work-related musculoskeletal disorders
- Reducing strain in surgical workplaces
- Exoskeletons to support physical work
- Diversity/inequality with regard to musculoskeletal disorders
You can find the complete programme, including all key topics and brief profiles of the keynote speakers, as well as further details about the conference, on our website: https://www.premus2025.com.
