Riboswitche sind neu entdeckte, weit verbreitete bakterielle
Regulatorelemente, die auf direkter RNA-Ligand-Wechselwirkung beruhen. Mit
einer Kombination aus in vitro Selektion, in vivo Screening und rationalem
Design entwickelte die Erlanger Forscherin, die ihr Biologie-Studium
in Greifswald begann, verschiedene synthetische Riboswitche als
universell einsetzbare Schalterelemente für die konditionale Genexpression
und analysierten an ihnen Struktur-Funktionsbeziehungen dieser neuartigen
Regulatorklasse.
