Priv.-Doz. Dr. Lutz Schweikhard vom Institut für Physik der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität in Mainz erhält für seine zukunftsweisenden Arbeiten zur Clusterforschung in Ionenfallen den Rudolf-Kaiser-Preis 1999. Der mit 50.000 DM Preis wird jährlich von der Rudolf-Kaiser-Stiftung im Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft an einen Nachwuchsphysiker vergeben, der noch nicht auf einen Lehrstuhl berufen ist. Die Preisverleihung wird im Rahmen einer Akademischen Feierstunde am Freitag, den 5. Mai 2000, auf dem Campus in Mainz stattfinden.
