Ganz aktuell - und auch als Reaktion auf solch extreme Hochwasserereignisse der letzten Jahre wie das Elbehochwasser 2002 - wird am 4. April 2005, ab 14 Uhr im Festsaal des TU-Rektorats das Lehrmodul "FLOODmaster - Integrated Risk Management of Extreme Events" gestartet.
Auf der Eröffnungsveranstaltung werden im Beisein des TU-Rektors sechs Vorträge nationaler und internationaler Wissenschaftler zum integrierten Hochwassermanagement zu hören sein.
Das Schwerpunktmodul wird vom BMBF mit 265 000 Euro über zwei Jahre gefördert und ist am TU-Institut für Hydrologie und Meteorologie angelagert. Das Projekt entstand in Kooperation mit dem Dresden Flood Research Center.
