Femi Osofisan (geboren 1946 in Erunwon, Nigeria) ist Kritiker, Poet, Romanschriftsteller, Dramatiker und Journalist. Er war Leiter der Theaterinstitute der Universitäten von Benin und Ibadan und des National Theatre in Lagos sowie Präsident der Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA). Derzeit lehrt er als Professor für Theaterwissenschaft an der Universität Ibadan, Nigeria. Als Journalist schreibt er regelmäßig für verschiedene Magazine, Zeitschriften und Zeitungen, darunter "West Africa", "Daily Times", "Newswatch" und der "Lagos Guardian". International bekannt wurde er vor allem als vielfach ausgezeichneter Autor zahlreicher Theaterstücke. Er zählt zu den wichtigsten Dramatikern Afrikas. Daneben veröffentlichte er mehrere Romane und Gedichtbände.

Femi Osofisan ist im Mai 2005 Gastwissenschaftler am Zentrum für Literaturforschung, eingeladen durch das Projekt "AFRIKA<->EUROPA. Transporte, Übersetzungen, Migrationen des Literarischen".
