An den vier Fakultäten der 1991 gegründeten einzigen Technischen Universität des Landes Brandenburg sind rund 5000 Studierende eingeschrieben, darunter 1200 aus dem Ausland. Die BTU Cottbus bietet folgende Diplom- bzw. Bachelor-/Masterstudiengänge an: Architektur; Bauingenieurwesen; Bauen & Erhalten, eBusiness, Electrical Power Engineering; Elektrotechnik; Environmental and Resource Management; Hydroinformatics and Water Management; Informatik; Informations- und Medientechnik; Landnutzung und Wasserbewirtschaftung; Mathematik; Maschinenbau; Physik; Stadt- und Regionalplanung; Umweltingenieurwesen; Verfahrenstechnik; Wirtschaftsmathematik; Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen, Wirtschaftswissenschaften, Technologie- und Innovationsmanagement sowie World Heritage Studies. Ein Bachelor-/Master-Studiengang Kultur und Technik befindet sich in Vorbereitung.
