Die gemeinsame Veranstaltung des Forschungszentrums Bergbaulandschaften der Brandenburgischen Technischen Universität Cottbus (BTU) und von Vattenfall Europe Mining & Generation (VE-M&G) hebt die Bedeutung einer langjährigen und fruchtbaren Kooperation
von Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft hervor, die nach Aussagen von Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kurt Häge (VE-M&G) und Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Reinhard F. Hüttl (Lehrstuhl für Bodenschutz und Rekultivierung) "bundesweit einmalig" sei.Zu der internationalen Tagung werden rund 250 Teilnehmer von Unternehmen und Institutionen aus dem Rekultivierungsbereich
weltweit erwartet. In ihren Eröffnungsbeiträgen weisen Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kurt Häge und Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Reinhard F. Hüttl auf die Bedeutung der Kooperation zwischen Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft in Hinblick auf die Entwicklung innovativer Landnutzungssysteme für Bergbaufolgelandschaften hin. Der Präsident des Landesumweltamtes
(LUA), Prof. Dr. Matthias Freude, geht ebenso wie der Präsident des Landesamtes für Bergbau, Geologie und Rohstoffe Brandenburg (LBGR), Dr. Klaus Freytag, auf die Potentiale und Herausforderungen bei der Rekultivierung
in der Region ein.
