Unternehmen setzen Umweltmanagement ein und stellen ihre Mitarbeiter frei für Einsätze in sozialen Einrichtungen. Sie nehmen ihre gesellschaftliche Verantwortung ernst, das legen solche Beispiele nahe. Doch wie passen dazu Standortverlagerungen und Personalabbau oder der immer noch viel zu hohe Ressourcenverbrauch? Widersprüche wie diese prägen die intensiv geführte Debatte um Corporate Social Responsibility - kurz CSR. Ist CSR also nur ein bloßes Modewort oder geht es tatsächlich um die notwendige Neubestimmung der sozialen und ökologischen Verantwortung von Unternehmen?
Das Insitut für ökologische Wirtschaftsforschung (IÖW) und die Vereinigung für ökologische Wirtschaftsforschung (VÖW) wollen auf ihrer Jubiläumstagung zum 20-jährigen Bestehen gemeinsam mit Vertreter/innen aus Unternehmen, Politik, Wissenschaft und Zivilgesellschaft diskutieren, welche Potenziale das Konzept CSR hat und unter welchen Bedingungen es zu einer nachhaltigeren Wirtschaftsweise führen kann.
Die Tagung findet in Kooperation mit der Frankfurter Rundschau statt.
