Neben Führungen durch das Genzentrum und seine Labore geben ab 15 Uhr Wissenschaftler unter dem Motto "Wissen schaffen - Wissen erleben" Einblicke in die moderne Biomedizinische Forschung.
Um 17 Uhr befasst sich eine Podiumsdiskussion, bei der auch Fragen aus dem Publikum beantwortet werden, mit dem Thema "Vom Gen zum Medikament - Innovationen für die Gesundheit von Morgen".
Die Moderation der Podiumsdiskussion wird Professor Horst Domdey, Vorstand der Bio-M AG, übernehmen. Professor Ernst-Ludwig Winnacker, Präsident der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft und Gründervater des Genzentrums, wird in das Thema einführen. Es diskutieren der Bayerische Wissenschaftsminister Dr. Thomas Goppel sowie Professor Günther Wess, Geschäftsführer des GSF Forschungszentrums für Umwelt und Gesundheit, der Vorstand der MediGene AG Peter Heinrich und Professor Benedikt Grothe vom Biozentrum der LMU.
Für die kleinen Besucher gibt es ein spezielles Kinderprogramm und am Abend findet ein Sommerfest am Genzentrum statt.
