New information about a revolutionary stem cell technology - abstract deadline 30 June 2006

The first Leipzig Fraunhofer Life Science Symposium will be held at BioCity Leipzig from 22-24 October 2006.

The symposium is being staged by the IZI Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology in conjunction with IKIT - the University of Leipzig's Department of Immunology and Transfusion Medicine.

Host Prof Frank Emmrich is delighted that the renowned scientist Prof Hasenfuss will be addressing the symposium. Prof Hasenfuss recently caused a sensation with his article in Nature describing how his team had isolated spermatogonial stem cells from adult mouse testes for the first time.

In addition, other speakers include researchers from Germany and abroad reporting on aspects of immunological tolerance, cell therapy, spinal regeneration, the imaging of regeneration, and regulatory issues for advanced therapy products.

The papers will be accompanied by poster presentations, displays and workshops on the topics mentioned.

The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 30 June 2006.
