Like many other African countries, Nigeria is rich in raw materials. However to date there has been no comprehensive account of Nigerian geology and Nigerian mineral resources. The lack of detailed knowledge about the country's geology - together with the concentration of Nigeria's economy on oil production - is an important reason why the country's rich deposits of raw materials have so far been too little used.
The lecture will give first insights in a project, which aims to combine the available information and the results of various analyses of around one hundred and fifty soil samples taken in Nigeria. This research shall result in a petrological and geochemical monograph which will for the first time give comprehensive information on soil properties and deposits of raw materials in Nigeria.

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
