Die Veranstaltung richtet sich an Kardiologen und kardiologisch interessierte Internisten, die ihr Wissen auffrischen wollen. Diskutiert werden sollen unter anderem praktische Aspekte von der Diagnostik der frühen Atherosklerose über die Therapie des akuten Koronarsyndroms bis hin zur Herztransplantation. Weitere Schwerpunkte sind neue Entwicklungen in der antithrombotischen Therapie bei KHK, in der Verhinderung von Schlaganfällen bei Vorhofflimmern sowie mögliche Interaktionen von Pharmaka. Die wissenschaftliche Leitung haben Prof. Dr. Harald Darius und Dr. Jost Henner Wirtz.
