Was hat Karl der Große mit Vulkanen zu tun? Diese Frage beantwortet Prof. Dr. Michael Mc Cormick von der renommierten Harvard-Universität bei einem Vortrag am Historischen Institut der UdS. Der Titel des Vortrages lautet: "Karl der Große und die Vulkane. Naturwissenschaften, Klimageschichte und Frühmittelalterforschung". Im Anschluss lädt das Präsidium der Universität des Saarlandes zu einem Empfang ein.
Der Vortrag gehört zu der Reihe "Neuere Forschungen zur Geschichte Europas. Kultur, Wirtschaft, Politik und Gesellschaft im Vergleich."
