Die durchschnittliche Lebenserwartung in Deutschland steigt bei gleichzeitig rückläufigen Geburtenraten. Dadurch nimmt der Anteil älterer Menschen in der Bevölkerung zu. Mit zunehmendem Alter geht die Körpergröße zurück, gleichzeitig zeigt sich aber über Generationen hinweg eine Zunahme an Körperhöhe - Gründe, weshalb Normung da, wo der Mensch im Mittelpunkt steht, von kurzer Gültigkeit ist. Die Möglichkeit, anthropometrisches und biologisches Wissen in Extrapolationsmodelle einzubringen, zeigt einen innovativen Weg auf, Normen zeitunabhängiger zu gestalten.
