Über die Produktverantwortung zwischen Anspruch, Wirklichkeit und Globalisierung berichtet Dipl.-Ing. Christiane Schnepel vom Umweltbundesamt in Dessau. Das Engagement der Branche im In- und Ausland schildert Dipl.-Kfm. Christian Winkler, EGR GmbH, Herten. Andreas Graf Bernstorff von Bernstorff Campaigning in Heidelberg beleuchtet Anforderungen und Grenzen der Kreislaufwirtschaft in der globalisierten Welt. Dr. Christian Hagelüken von der Umicore AG in Hanau zeigt, welche Relevanz das Elektro-Altgeräte-Recycling für Rohstoffe und Umwelt hat. Wie sich die Verwertungstechnologien an den Produktwandel anpassen, illustriert Dipl.-Ing. Jochen Schiemann vom Institut für Energie- und Umwelttechnik e.V. in Duisburg am Beispiel von Brennstoffzellen, Flachbildschirmen und Kühlgeräten. Moderator der Veranstaltung ist Prof. Dr. Klaus Gerhard Schmidt, Institut für Energie- und Umwelttechnik e.V, Duisburg.
