Darüber und über die Haftungsfragen, die sich daraus ergeben, informiert Dr. Markus W. Pauly von Köhler & Klett Rechtsanwälte, Köln. Den Brückenschlag von der Produktverantwortung in der Abfallwirtschaft zu REACH unternimmt Dr. Hanshelmut Itzel von der Merck KGaA in Darmstadt. Dr. Ingo Sartorius von PlasticEurope Deutschland e.V. in Frankfurt schildert, welchen Beitrag die Kunststoffindustrie leisten kann. Am konkreten Beispiel zeigt ein Vertreter der Adam Opel GmbH in Rüsselsheim, wie abfallarme Produktion und Produktverantwortung in der Automobilindustrie umgesetzt werden. Den Hintergrund der Abfallrahmenrichtlinie erläutert Dr. Anja Weißgerber, Mitglied des Europäischen Parlaments in Brüssel. Die Bedeutung der Produktverantwortung für die Volkswirtschaft beleuchtet abschließend Prof. Dr. Martin Faulstich, Mitglied im Sachverständigenrat für Umweltfragen. Die Veranstaltung wird geleitet von Dr. Martin Engler vom Regierungspräsidium Darmstadt, Abteilung Arbeitssschutz und Umwelt, in Wiesbaden.
