Mathematik in der Antike, Literatur und Musik
vorgestellt von von Prof. Dr. Bernard Andreae, Prof. Dr. Gernot Wilhelm und Prof. Harald Hartung
Eine musikalisch-mathematische Soirée
"Musikalischer Genuß ist mathematisch" konstatierte Novalis in den "Fragmenten" und schon Pythagoras errechnete die Verhältnisse der Frequenzen von verschiedenen Tönen und stellte die pythagoräische Skala auf; Johannes Kepler beschrieb, nach dem Studium der Umlaufbahn des Mars, in den 'Harmonices Mundi' die Sphärenmusik nach exakten Gesetzen und Leonard Euler ordnete jedem Ton eine Zahl zu. Johann Sebastian Bach betrieb in seinen Kompositionen barocke Zahlenspiele auf das Vollkommenste.
In Zusammenarbeit mit der Hochschule für Musik, Mainz, werden mathematisch-musikalische Beispiele aufgeführt.
Veranstalter: Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Literatur, Mainz in Kooperation mit dem Römisch-Germanischen Zentralmuseum und der Hochschule für Musik, Mainz.
