Unter der eigenen Rubrik "Dueck's World" veröffentlicht der Springer-Verlag seine satirisch-philosophischen Bücher: Prof. Dr. Gunter Dueck, Jahrgang 1951, war Mathematik-Professor in Bielefeld und wechselte 1987 an das wissenschaftliche Zentrum der IBM in Heidelberg. Er arbeitet bei IBM als "Chief Technologist" unter anderem an Strategiefragen. Dueck ist "IBM Distinguished Engineer", Inhaber des "Prize Paper Awards" der IEEE Information Theory Society, IEEE Fellow und Mitglied der IBM Academy of Technology. 2006 zeichnete ihn die Financial Times für das "Wirtschaftsbuch des Jahres" aus.
Zu seinem Vortrag "Vom Lehrsatz zum Geschäft" am 6. November um 20.15 Uhr sind alle Interessenten herzlich eingeladen.
Der Vortrag wird angeboten im Rahmen des Symposiums zur Didaktik der Mathematik "Mathematik lehren und lernen an der Hochschule - von der Schule zum Beruf", das die Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (HTW) und der Lehrstuhl für Mathematik und ihre Didaktik der Universität des Saarlandes vom 6. bis 7. November 2008 veranstalten.
