Kann die hydrothermale Carbonisierung (HTC) einen sinnvollen Weg zur Verwertung landwirtschaftlicher Reststoffe darstellen und gleichzeitig zum Klimaschutz beitragen? Das Verfahren, bei dem aus Biomasse "Pflanzenkohle" hergestellt werden kann, ist prinzipiell beschrieben, bis zur Praxisreife bedarf es aber noch weiterer Entwicklungsarbeiten. Wie realistisch ist eine Verwendung dieser Pflanzenkohle als Energieträger oder zur Kohlenstoff-Sequestrierung in Böden und als Bodenhilfsstoff?
Die Fachveranstaltung soll Politik, Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und Verwaltung über wissenschaftliche und technische Aspekte der HTC informieren, erste Erfahrungen von Unternehmen vorstellen und die mögliche Bedeutung der HTC für Landwirtschaft, Reststoffverwertung, Energie und Klima zur Diskussion stellen.

Es wird keine Tagungsgebühr erhoben. Vorherige Anmeldung unter htc-tagung@vti.bund.de ist erforderlich (Deadline 23.02.2009). Es können nur angemeldete Personen teilnehmen.
