Die Substanzklasse der Peptide ist im menschlichen Organismus für
zahlreiche biologische Funktionen verantwortlich und deshalb auch für
die Therapie vieler pathophysiologischer Zustände von hohem Interesse.
Der Einsatz von Peptiden als Arzneimittel wird allerdings durch ihre
geringe Bioverfügbarkeit wesentlich eingeschränkt. Durch chemische
Modifikationen der peptidischen Leitstruktur ist es möglich, diese
negativen Eigenschaften abzumindern. In der Vorlesung wird der generelle
Weg von der peptidischen Leitstruktur zum Wirkstoff aufgezeigt und an
Beispielen veranschaulicht.
