"PR-Lectures: Internationale Kommunikation zwischen "grassroot activism" und konzertierter Orchestrierung"

Amnesty International ist in über 100 Ländern vertreten. In Deutschland engagieren sich rund 100.000 UnterstützerInnen in 700 lokalen Gruppen, Jugend-, Länder- und Themenkoordinationsgruppen mit Amnesty für die Verteidigung der Menschenrechte.
Markus Beeko verantwortet seit 2004 den Bereich "Kampagnen und Kommunikation" bei Amnesty International; daneben ist er Mitglied der "Global Communications Group" zur Koordination der globalen Kommunikation bei Amnesty, wo er maßgeblich an der Entwicklung der ersten weltweiten Brand Identity für die größte internationale Menschenrechtsorganisation beteiligt ist. Neben seinem deutschen Verantwortungsbereich übernahm er interimsweise in 2006/2007 im International Secretariat in London die Position des Deputy Senior Director Communications. Bei Amnesty International leitet Beeko ein rund 15-köpfiges Team, das neben der Pressearbeit und dem Campaigning die gesamte externe Kommunikation betreut.
Die "PR-Lectures" sind eine Vortragsreihe im Studiengang Medienmanagement der Macromedia Hochschule für Medien und Kommunikation und richten sich an Interessierte und Studierende der Studienrichtung PR- und Kommunikationsmanagement. Jedes Semester stellen renommierte Referenten aus der Welt der Kommunikation ein Thema aus ihrem Berufsalltag vor und diskutieren mit den Gästen. Fachgäste und interessierte Besucher sind willkommen. Veranstalter ist Prof. Dr. Perry Reisewitz, Professor für PR- und Kommunikationsmanagement. Organisation: Jessica Schallock, wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin.
