Der Vortrag geht der Frage nach, inwiefern Systemtheorie und Textsortenlinguistik viabel zu einander erscheinen. Das heißt es wird zu prüfen sein, ob die Systemtheorie zu den Zwecken oder Anforderungen an die Beschreibung von Texten und Textsorten passt. Anhand systemtheoretischer Zugriffe auf Textsorten (z. B. Nachhaltigkeitsberichte, Flyer-Textsorten, Studierendenzettel für die Dozentensprechstunde an Hochschulen) werden Korrelationen zwischen textsortenlinguistischen und systemtheoretischen Begrifflichkeiten hergestellt.
