Festveranstaltung im Rahmen des Jubiläums HU200 mit Professor Dr. Philip van der Eijk, dem am 11. Mai 2010 eine Alexander von Humboldt-Professur, der höchstdotierte internationale Preis für Forschung in Deutschland, verliehen wurde.
Professor van der Eijk gilt international als Ausnahmeforscher auf seinem Fachgebiet der Medizingeschichte. In seinen Forschungen vereint er wichtige Aspekte der Klassischen Philologie, der Philosophie und der Wissenschaftsgeschichte. Seine internationale Reputation erlangte er durch Arbeiten zur antiken Philosophie und Naturwissenschaft sowie insbesondere zur Geschichte der antiken Medizin. Er lehrt und forscht nun am Institut für Klassische Philologie der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin als Professor für Klassische Altertumswissenschaften und Wissenschaftsgeschichte.
