Auf Initiative des Bezirks Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, der Senatsverwaltung für Stadtentwicklung, der Adlershof Projekt GmbH, der Universität der Künste und der Technischen Universität Berlin wurde 2008 das Projekt NAVI BC ins Leben gerufen. Durch Verknüpfung von Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und Kultur soll der Campus der TUB und der UdK und dessen Umfeld zu einem der attraktivsten Standorte für Forscher, Unternehmer und Kreative und damit größten innerstädtischen Wachstumskern Berlins entwickelt werden. Das Projekt gilt z. Zt. als wichtigstes wirtschaftpolitisches Vorhaben der Stadt.
Besondere Aufmerksamkeit zollt man dabei der Gründung junger Unternehmen aus dem Potential der beiden Universitäten. Nach dem Vorbild von Adlershof soll in den kommenden Jahren in Charlottenburg ein neuer Technologie- und Gründerpark entstehen. Wie gelingt ein solches "Charlottenburg Valley"?
