Die Fakultät für Design der Hochschule München richtet dieses Jahr ihr erstes Typografie Symposium aus. Highlights sind die Vorträge von internationalen Typografie-Größen wie Andreas Uebele, Professor für visuelle Kommunikation an der Fachhochschule Düsseldorf, und Ruedi Baur, der unter anderem in Paris und China gelehrt hat.
Das Symposium bietet neben Vorträgen noch mehr: Designstudierende stellen ihre typografischen Arbeiten aus, Podiumsdiskussionen und Workshops erweitern das Programm.
„20plusx“: Das sind 18 Designstudenten, der betreuende Professor Xuyen Dam und die Fakultät für Design. Das „x“ steht für die hochkarätigen Referenten und die Besucher des Symposiums.
Das Thema „Umbruch“ ist ein Begriff aus dem Schriftsatz. Er gibt an, an welcher Stelle ein Text von einer Zeile in die nächste übergehen soll. Umbruch steht auch für einen Neuanfang, Richtungswechsel oder eine gestalterische Avantgarde.
