Am Donnerstag, den 9. Juni 2011 führt Dr. Ralf van Bühren aus Köln/Päpstliche Universität Santa Croce, Rom, die Reihe mit dem Vortrag "Zur Autonomie des modernen Künstlers. Georg Meistermann und das Verhältnis von Kunst und Kirche nach 1945." fort.
Gleichwohl die Kirche eine große Förderin der Kunst war und ist, stellt sich das Verhältnis zwischen Kunst und Kirche nach 1945 als ein spannungsreiches dar. Zum einen aufgrund der Autonomie des zeitgenössischen Künstlers, der sich aus der Beheimatung in der Kirche gelöst hat, zum anderen wird die zeitgenössische Kunst im kirchlichen Raum häufig nicht verstanden. Der Vortrag beleuchtet dieses Verhältnis im Allgemeinen, wie aber auch vor allem dasjenige von Georg Meistermann zum Thema Kunst und Kirche.
Dr. phil. Dr. theol. Ralf van Bühren ist Kunsthistoriker, katholischer Theologe und Publizist. 2008 Publikation der Dissertation zur Kunst und Kirche im 20. Jahrhundert. Lehrtätigkeit an der Päpstlichen Universität Santa Croce in Rom (Theologische Fakultät, Kom-munikationswissenschaftliche Fakultät).
