Die Unternehmen der Agrar- und Ernährungswirtschaft müssen sich an den Klimawandel, den technologischen Fortschritt und veränderte Konsummuster anpassen. Gleichzeitig werden von der Gesellschaft hohe Erwartungen an sie gerichtet, z.B. hinsichtlich Lebensmittelsicherheit, Umweltschutz und fairer Produktionsbedingungen. Die sich hieraus ergebenden Herausforderungen werden während der Tagung in einem breiten Spektrum von Vorträgen und Diskussionen behandelt, wodurch der spezifische Beitrag der Agrarökonomie zum Verständnis dieses Spannungsfeldes verdeutlicht wird.
