HighTech Europe Workshop, Brokerage Event and Stakeholder Event @ ANUGA FoodTec

HighTech Europe, the first European food processing network of excellence, organizes a series of events in the frame of ANUGA FoodTec: A workshop, a stakeholder event and a brokerage event will take place on March 2012 in Cologne. The participation is free of charge and is directed especially to small and medium sized enterprises.

One of the major activities of HighTech Europe is dedicated to setting up the foundations for a sustainable cooperation in the food-tech area in form of a European Institute for Food Processing. This institute is meant to ensure efficient knowledge transfer to the European food industry, at regional up to European scale.

For this purpose, the project partners of HighTech Europe ttz Bremerhaven, ZENIT, Agropolis International and Wageningen UR Food & Biobased Research organise a workshop, a Brokerage and Stakeholder Event in the frame of ANUGA FoodTec from 28/03/2012 to 29/03/2012.

The HighTech Europe Workshop „Consumer perception of novel food processing technologies” (28/03/2012, 13:00-14:35) will deal with consumer perception of novel technologies like high pressure. After a presentation of results gained in the project, the topic will be discussed interactively with the audience, comprising issues like technological advantages and possibilities of novel technologies, potential risks, legal labelling requirements, ways to communicate the topic to consumers as well as consumers’ expectations and fears. The arguments of the discussion will help developers and marketing experts in their decision whether to implement novel technologies in their company or not and how the use needs to be communicated and can be used as a marketing advantage.

The HighTech Europe Brokerage Event (28/03/2012 and 29/03/2012) allows researchers and manufacturers to exchange information about latest technologies and to find new cooperation or business partners. One-on-one meetings will be arranged according to the participants’ requests.

At the Stakeholder Event “Future of Food Processing” (29/03/2012, 15:30-17:05) interested companies, institutes and associations can give their feedback on relevant missions for such an institute, as well as exert influence on how to proceed with the business plan for the European Institute for Food Processing. Recommendations will be considered in the project for the further development of the institute.
