Without predetermining the organization and content of the sessions, the following topics are expected to be covered by submitted papers:
A) Production economics:
i) The decline of productivity growth in agriculture in recent years as well as restrictions (e. g. area availability, area degradation, and water availability) for agricultural production.
ii) The trend towards large-scale investments in land in developing and transition countries.
B) Trade and prices:
i) International trade integration which leads European agriculture to be more exposed to international competition regarding price levels and volatility.
ii) Integration of global value added chains and product- and process standardization with the consideration of sustainability issues which expose the agricultural and food sectors to opportunities and risks.
iii) "New" demand components (bioenergy, material use), which usually compete with food demand and increase scarcity on world agricultural markets.
iv) Globally increasing input costs for agricultre, mainly driven by the vast increase in energy prices in recent years.
C) Environment and climate:
i) The interaction between climate change and the agricultural and food sector: on the one hand, the agricultural and food sectors will be influenced by climate change. On the other hand, these sectors contribute to climate change because of the high emissions of greenhouse gases.
ii) Concepts for the internalization of negative externalities resulting from the usage of natural resources.
iii) The potential of changes in consumption patterns to reduce the demand for natural resources.
D) Institutional and social issues:

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
