München/Stuttgart (4.7.2012) – Nach durchweg positiven Resonanzen im vergangenen Jahr veranstaltet die MHMK zum zweiten Mal den Games & Simulations Day auf dem Stuttgarter Campus im Medienzentrum Römerkastell. Das Motto in diesem Jahr: „Spiele. Welten“.
Der renommierte Spieleentwickler, Buchautor und MHMK-Professor Dr. Michael Bhatty wird die Veranstaltung mit einer Keynote zum Thema „Directing Games“ eröffnen, bevor sich insgesamt fünf Game Design-Experten zu Wort melden und in ihren Vorträgen Ein- und Ausblicke auf den Status Quo und die Zukunft der Spielebranche gewähren. Neben Tom Kubischik von den morgen studios aus Berlin, Martin Nerurkar von Sharkbombs aus Stuttgart und Prof. Dr-Ing. Wolfgang Höhl von der MHMK München präsentieren auch Hollywoodveteran Randall Wilkins und der zeitweise in Melbourne lehrende Game & Cross Media Designer Dr. Steffen P. Walz aus Stuttgart aktuelle Bewegungen und Trends. Vortrags- und Diskussionsthemen des Games & Simulations Day 2012 sind der Aufstieg progressiver Entwicklergenerationen, das Environmental Storytelling und die Integration neuartiger 4D-Technologien. Abschließend treffen sich alle Experten auf dem MHMK-Podium zum „Games Talk“.
Im Rahmen des Games & Simulations Day können sich Interessierte auch über die Studienrichtung Game Design sowie Games-Projekte von MHMK-Studierenden und Professoren informieren und einen Blick in virtuelle Welten wagen.
Die Veranstaltung findet am 19. Juli 2012 ab 13:30 Uhr an der MHMK Stuttgart im Medienzentrum Römerkastell in der Naststraße 11 statt. Der Eintritt ist kostenlos. Um Anmeldung wird unter info.stgt@mhmk.org gebeten.
