Schwerpunkte werden in diesem Jahr die Nachhaltigkeit von Rohstoffen sowie Werkstoffinnovationen für den Umstieg auf Erneuerbare Energien sein. Experten aus 48 Nationen werden in 35 Symposien , 70 Keynotes- und Highlight-Lectures sowie über 1000 Präsentationen in zehn parallelen Sessions vertreten sein. Prominent besetzte Podiumsdiskussionen sowie ein Karriereworkshop für junge Wissenschaftler runden das Programm an der TU Darmstadt ab.
Die Tagung findet alle zwei Jahre statt.
