Sein Vortrag lautet "Fische, Flossen, flotte Nummern - Zur funktionellen Morphologie von Begattungsorganen lebendgebärender Teleosteer".
Zusammenfassung: Innerhalb der Teleosteer hat sich mehrmals unabhängig voneinander ein Fortpflanzungsmodus entwickelt, der als Viviparie („Lebendgebären“) bezeichnet wird. Diese Art der Fortpflanzung setzt (meist) voraus, dass Spermien in den weiblichen Genitaltrakt eingebracht werden („Insemination“). An diesem zum Teil extrem schnell ablaufenden Vorgang ist stets die zwar taxonspezifisch, aber dennoch extrem variabel modifizierte Afterflosse, die meist als Gonopodium bezeichnet wird, beteiligt. Im Vortrag werden exemplarisch „einfache“ und „komplexe“ Gonopodien so bekannter Aquarienfische wie Goodeidae, Anablepidae, Zenarchopteridae und Poeciliidae vorgestellt, diese Begattungsorgane, vor allem bei Poeciliiden, im Zusammenhang mit Paarungsstrategien (Balz, erzwungene Kopulation) diskutiert und kurz einige der überaus zahlreichen, noch offenen Fragen angesprochen.
