Green Materials – Polymers, Raw Materials and New Composites

on April 09 2013, the East-West-Science Centre (OWWZ - University of Kassel) with the support of the Deutsche Messe organizes the East-European Workshop: Green Materials - Polymers, Raw Materials and New Composites as part of the leading trade fair for environmental technologies “Industrial GreenTec” (Hanover Fair 08. – 12. April 2013).

Global sustainability pressures including high oil prices and environmental concerns provide a strong motivation for developing polymers that are more efficient in the use of materials and energy and are safe and prevent pollution. Many recent initiatives successfully focus on the use of renewable and environmentally benign bioplastics derived from agricultural and microbial resources.

To speed up the structural transformation to a bio-based industry, new types of international collaboration between researchers and industry partners are needed. Information exchange on the latest green trends in science and technology in the target countries will offer chances for cooperation.

According to this guiding idea the workshop will serve as a forum for scientific presentations and first contacts as well as a platform for project development and networking.

The East-West-Science Centre (OWWZ) is affiliated to the University of Kassel. The workshop is an activity of the German-Russian Cooperation Network Biotechnology - supported by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) - and will be co-organized by the A.N. Bach Institute of Biochemistry (Moscow), the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kiev Polytechnic Institute" and the State Enterprise "Scientific and Technological Park BNTU "Polytechnic" (Minsk).

Scientists from Germany, Russia, Belarus and the Ukraine are invited to present their work and cooperation ideas. Participation is free of charge - registration required.

Directly after the workshop OWWZ in cooperation with CReED e.V. offers a Qualification Course on Bio-Waste-Management (10. - 13. April 2013) near Hanover. For participants it is possible to combine both events.

Search / advanced search of the idw archives
Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
