The Index aims to provide the policy makers with a tool that will indicate various domains for policy interventions in promoting active and healthy ageing. The AAI is intended for measuring and monitoring active and healthy ageing not just in outcomes but also pointing to untapped potential of older people. The AAI makes use of a dashboard of indicators on the extent to which older people have and can realise their potential with respect to employment and various unpaid family, social and cultural contributions as well as be healthy, independent and autonomous in their living. (for more details, please check http://www.unece.org/population-unit/areas-of-work/ageing/ageing/pauactive-agein...).
The work on AAI is set to continue by extending the country coverage and establishing AAI levels for previous years in order to evaluate trends and potentially also connect to the process of monitoring progress in the implementation of Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing. The talk will focus on some methodological aspects of AAI and its potential use by policy makers and other stakeholders

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
