Der mit 50.000 Euro dotierte Ernst Schering Preis geht an den Chemiker Prof. Dr. David W.C. MacMillan, Leiter des Instituts für Chemie an der Universität Princeton, USA, für seine bahnbrechenden Beiträge zur Organokatalyse und Organokaskaden-Katalyse.
Am 29. September um 16 Uhr hält Professor MacMillan eine Vorlesung an der TU Berlin zum Thema „The Various Roles of Photoredox Catalysis in Modern Chemical Synthesis”. Die Veranstaltung ist öffentlich.
Den mit 10.000 Euro dotierten Friedmund Neumann Preis erhält die Molekularbiologin Dr. Nina Henriette Uhlenhaut vom Helmholtz Zentrum München für Gesundheit und Umwelt für ihre herausragenden Beiträge zur Erforschung molekulargenetischer Mechanismen endokrinologischer und metabolischer Erkrankungen.
