Moritz Eggert, Komponist und Pianist, hat eine Kompositionsprofessur an der Münchner Musikhochschule inne. 2015 lehrte er als Howard Hanson Visiting Professor an der Eastman School of Music, Rochester, New York. Bekannt wurde er vor allem durch seinen Klavierzyklus ›Hämmerklavier‹ und seine Opern (z.B. ›Wir sind daheim‹, die in Mainz erfolgreich aufgeführt wurde, oder ›Die Schnecke‹ und ›Freax‹). Für das Pop-Duo 2raumwohnung schrieb er neue Songs und Remixe mit Orchester. Sein ›Bad Blog of Musick‹ gilt als meistgelesener Blog für zeitgenössische Musik in Deutschland. Im Oktober erhält er den renommierten Louis-Spohr-Musikpreis der Stadt Braunschweig.
