Der Roundtable mit internationalen Experten ist Teil des zweiten Projekt-Workshops aller 19 Institutionen, die im Rahmen des Projekts „Giving focus to the Cultural, Scientific and Social Dimension of EU - CELAC relations“ (EULAC Focus) zusammenarbeiten. Das Konsortium umfasst Universitäten, außeruniversitäre Forschungseinrichtungen, Forschungsförderer und Wissenschaftsministerien und politische Think Tanks aus der EU und der CELAC. Ziel von EULAC Focus (2016-2019) ist es, die wissenschaftlichen Grundlagen für eine strategischere Ausrichtung der bi-regionalen Beziehungen zu schaffen. Mobilität ist zusammen mit Ungleichheit, Diversität und Nachhaltigkeit eines der vier Querschnittsthemen, die seitens des IAI im Projekt bearbeitet werden. Gefördert wird EULAC Focus im Rahmen des EU-Programms Horizont 2020.
