Campaigning in the 2016 US election posed new challenges, including historic shifts in voting patterns. From the presidential race to the US Senate to statehouses across America, there is much to learn from this election. Justin Brennan and Ian Russell are experienced campaigners who witnessed this firsthand; Brennan as the Deputy Campaign Manager for Ted Strickland’s Senate bid in Ohio and Russell as the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Deputy Executive Director and Political Director. Both experts will share their insight into the likely first steps of the new US government and the implications of a Trump presidency for German-American relations.
