Tagungsinhalt sind Fachvorträge und Workshops zur Informatik in Lehre und Forschung, zur Didaktik der Informatik und zur Organisation der Lehre. Informatik umfasst dabei auch spezialisierte oder fachübergreifende Studiengänge wie Medieninformatik, Technische Informatik oder Wirtschaftsinformatik. Vorträge und Workshops können von allen Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer angemeldet werden.
Neben dem inhaltlichen Arbeiten dient das Kolloquium dem Aufbau und Erhalt von Beziehungen zwischen Lehrenden und war so bereits Ausgangspunkt für verschiedene Forschungsprojekte.
