In the afternoon, Roberto Rigobon of the MIT Sloan School of Management, Mine Cetinkaya-Rundel (University of Edinburgh) and data analyst Hilary Parker will provide insights into their work and experiences. Topics range from use of design thinking in data analysis to the measurement of environmental social and governance using big data.
Connect@IPSDS is running for the fourth time. This year an interactive workshop – open to the public – was added to the agenda to discuss pitfalls in big data analysis.
IPSDS invites students, young professionals, researchers, practitioners and interested parties from all sectors (science, industry, government and non-profit organizations) for a day of networking and exchanging ideas in the field of survey research and data science.

IPSDS is an international and multidisciplinary continuing education program. The international partners include institutions and experts from industry and academia.. The program is primarily designed for professionals in market research and social research institutions, statistical offices, ministries, educational institutions or other public and private organizations. IPSDS courses are conducted online and are taught in English.
IPSDS is funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and established in cooperation between the universities of Maryland and Mannheim. Head of the project is Prof. Dr. Frauke Kreuter. Connect@IPSDS is supported by the Mannheim Business School.
